Funnies page

November 29, 2006

Since we all need a good smile and laugh from time to time, I have created a Funnies page for all the entertaining items I find online.  This page will contain jokes, pictures, and videos that I hope you will enjoy.  If you come across anything funny that you want me to add, just let me know.

Now . . . SMILE!  🙂

I bought my Christmas present today!

November 29, 2006

Yup, that’s right.  I bought myself a Christmas present.  Ignoring all the hype around the Playstation 3 and the Wii, I bought a Xbox 360.  Since most of my current games will play on the new system, I can continue to enjoy my old games as well as expanding in to the new, better graphic games.  My old Xbox will be regifted and given to my nieces for Christmas, along with my copy of Monkey Ball Deluxe (the girls just love that game).  If anyone can recommend some games for the 360 which they enjoy, please let us know.

Model Railroading: How to make realistic mountain rock faces

November 27, 2006

I talked with some friends of mine this past week who are doing their own model railroading, and one of them told me an interesting technique for making realistic rock faces.  Since he is from West Virginia, most of the exposed rock faces he sees are the angled sedimentary rock layers, especially along the major roads where the construction crews had to dig into the mountain to lay a steady grade.  His trick to reproduce this effect on his train layout was discovered just over his head: ceiling tiles.
